The Great Betrayal

When Poland’s foreign minister Sikorski along with his German counterpart Frank Walter told Ukrainian protest leadership to sign recent pledge effectively ending the uprising or ‘you’ll all be dead’, was a betrayal of the very moral leadership that ended Soviet domination.

Perhaps the true story is the calculation that party leaders understood the intrinsic weakness of American leadership.

Obama is no Reagan.

The Ukrainian Maidan Civil Council has still to agree, but there are clearly no red lines for Putin to fear.

As the former Ukrainian Prime Minister took to address protesters in Kiev’s Independence Square she was admonished “Yulia Vladimirovna, remember who made this revolution”. It is apparent that while imprisoned, her leadership and symbolism have receeded.

Putin & Yanukovych are winning.  America is retreating.
